How can you help?
All of our dogs are microchipped, spayed, neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption.
The cost of caring for our dogs is high, but always worth it to give them the second chance they deserve and find their loving, forever families.
There are many ways that you too, can help make a difference!
Donate
As a not-for-profit organisation, we rely heavily on fundraising efforts and community support in caring for our dogs. Every donation helps us provide the best care for as many dogs as possible.
There are several ways you can make a donation:
We have set up a Paypal ‘Giving’ fund, which ensures 100% of your donation goes towards the support, medical expenses, and care for our rescue dogs.
There are also many essential and enrichment items you can donate to help care for our dogs. These include:
- Towels
- Toys
- Beds
- Food
If you are able to donate any of these items, we can arrange pick up or delivery via Facebook Messenger.

Advocate
“We buy items, we adopt hearts.”
Australian K9 Rescue Victoria was established in 2018 by founder Kerry, with the intention of helping dogs reach their ‘Forever Homes’. Some of these dogs were rescued from dire situations such as abandonment or ‘death row’ within the pound system. We believe all dogs deserve their happily ever after.
Rescuing will help eliminate puppy farms. Even though puppy farms are illegal, many people throughout the world still benefit from the profits made. A lot of the problem comes from the fact that people are not even aware they are adopting a puppy that was bred from a puppy farm. That is why it is vital to research exactly where one is adopting from before purchasing a puppy.

Foster
Have you considered fostering?
By taking into your home an animal in need temporarily, you’re freeing up a spot at pounds that may be preparing the animal for euthanasia. By giving your foster dog the time with your family, allows them the time they need to become ready for adoption. In the same breath, it is not an easy task, but extremely rewarding experience to be part of a rescue dog’s journey.
Parents that have dogs provide life lessons and extended benefits to their children. Not only does having a dog naturally teach children responsibilities and empathy, but it can also help them with separation anxiety and feeling a sense of security when they are at home.
Dogs will always provide unconditional love. Regardless of what may have happened minutes, hours, or days before, a dog will love you and will always be there, greeting with as much love and kindness as if nothing had ever gone wrong.
If you have strongly considered now is great to foster a dog please express your interest by sending us a message through Facebook Messenger with a brief outline of your Family, your home & yard size plus lifestyle.

Volunteer
Some of our most valuable members are those who continue to volunteer their time, even though they are not fostering or looking after dogs.
This can range from assisting with new members, fundraising events (Eg. Bunnings BBQ), and advocating our cause. You would be surprised how many people have contacts and relationships with people and businesses, who can contribute to the success of our rescue.
